RETURN TO THE FULL CALENDAR
This is an old but beautiful design from 1982 that is finished as a hollow six-sided ornament and will be led by Sandra Resnick. The instructions are available to download HERE.
In these directions, 14-ct perforated paper and DMC floss are used. It could also be stitched on 14-ct canvas (interlock would eliminate dealing with fraying edges), 14-ct plastic canvas, or 28-ct linen or Aida. The latter would require a stiffener to maintain shape and an edge treatment to prevent unraveling. There is perforated paper in the Guild stash available on request.
The instructions specify stitching with 4 plies of DMC floss which means a laying tool should be used for best results. If you want to speed up the process, consider using pearl cotton. Stitches used include straight, couching, and overcast stitches. If you want to glitz it up, consider using a ribbon floss such as Neon rays.
