Viking Knitting Necklace

Jewelry made with this looping technique using wire, "no knitting needles required”, has been found in Viking burial hoards in Scandinavia and known Viking occupied sites elsewhere in Europe beginning in the ninth century. Needlework Guild of Minnesota held several sessions teaching this technique. The presentation included basic instructions, what type of beads to look for if you want to incorporate them in your finished necklace, and finishing instructions of drawing your necklace through a drawplate to give it a smooth finish.
