Leslie Granbeck
Felted Beads and Baubles.
Roll up your sleeves and explore a variety of wet felting and jewelry-making techniques. With a little soapy water, transform colorful wool fibers into beads, buttons, pendants, ropes and other jewelry components. Roll, pinch, slice and embellish your creations with seed beads for added texture. Leslie will help you design and complete a bracelet and earrings using your felted beads and a fun variety of wire shapes, glass and stone. If time permits, make a nuno felted bracelet using wool and silk fabric. So many wonderful ways to play with fibers!
No previous felting or beading experience required.
Felted Slippers

Cozy and warm, your new felted slippers are perfect for the colder days ahead. Learn to layer wool roving over a custom-made pattern to create seamless 3-dimensional felt. Choose your favorite look: casual rolled-over cuff, elegant lounging slipper, or backless mule. You can size your slippers on your own two feet (for limber felters only) or opt for homework requiring a pair of socks, a roll of duct tape and a sense of humor. Either way, you’ll enjoy relaxing with your feet up in a pair of one-of-a-kind handmade wool slippers.
No previous felting experience required. Note: due to the size of the fabric you are making, you will need to stand for much of the class.
Felted Vases, Vessels and Bowls

Have fun creating sculptural, seamless 3-D felt. With wool roving and a variety of embellishment fibers, felt one-of-a-kind vessels to hold trinkets, chocolates, keys, or to simply brighten up any shelf. Choose bright or natural colors, and “sculpt” your vessels into any shape from a bowl to a vase, from organic to contemporary. You can even make your vessels reversible. We’ll be working with water, so dress for mess!
