Upcoming

January 10, 2012

Evening Counted Thread has decided to spice things up this year, hopefully make things a little more fun, by having a Finishing Challenge, similar to the local ANG chapter's Challenge also starting in January.  Here's how it works:
Bring 2-3 projects to the January 10 meeting that you want to finish.  The projects should be less than half-stitched and cannot be the same project(s) you are working on for the ANG Challenge.  Also bring $5 to the meeting to put in the Finishing Challenge Kitty.  The group will choose which project it thinks you should finish in 2012.  Then you start stitching - work fast!  Bring your project to the April 10, July 10, and October 9 meetings for show-and-tell.  If we see visible proof that you have worked on your project, you will get $1 back at each of those meetings.  Bring your fully stitched Finishing Challenge project to the December 11 meeting, and your name will be in the drawing for what remains in the Finishing Challenge Kitty.  The Challenge is guaranteed to be highly competitive, and we hope all of you have fun with it.  Looking forward to seeing what each of you has stuck away in the closet waiting to see light!

February 14, 2012

Happy Valentine’s Day!  We will have open stitching and continue working on our challenge pieces selected at the January meeting.

March 13, 2012

Continue with open stitching and our challenge pieces selected at the January meeting.

Starting at our April meeting we will begin working on Petal Pincushion, the first of two larger pieces for the year.  The second larger project is the Maryland Roses Ultimate Needlebook by Kirsten Edwards (starting June or July).  We will alternate between the two pieces, spending two to three months on each one alternately, and of course include our challenge pieces and open stitching.  Refer to the newsletter for more information about these projects and how to order the patterns.

April 10, 2012

Petal Pincushion by Mani di Donna (MTV Designs) and her friend Maria Teresa Vitali. We will distribute the Petal Pincushion patterns to begin the project.  Please also bring your challenge piece so we can review your progress.

May 8, 2012

Continue working on Petal Pincushion.
